Thyroid hypophyseal adenomas correspond to about 0.5 to 1% of pituitary adenomas. Tumor hypersecretion of TSH may also be present in plurihormonal adenomas that simultaneously secrete growth hormone and/or prolactin or FSH and LH glycoprotein hormones.
